Smokey Bear Live: A Distance Learning Adventure

On November 7, 2019 NMPBS produced a live, interactive, question and answer program with U.S.D.A. Forest Service experts broadcast from Capitan, NM to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Smokey Bear wildfire prevention campaign.
The webcast had viewership of an estimated 35,880 teachers/ classrooms during the live event and 6,900 afterwards for a total of 42,780 classrooms watching with approximately 855,600 students.
